Okay, so, who do I have to commission to make a “Yaz dies from the Mosasaurus” fic?
NOBODY GIVE ME WEIRD LOOKS BECAUSE YOU GUYS LOVE MAKING BEN ACTUALLY DIE TO THE PTERANODONS !!! I’ve seen the fics ,,
The scenes happen back to back too, so it’s like — almost equal amounts of angst !! Because when Yaz breaks her ankle and Sammy runs over to her, she’s still pissed at Sammy, so imagine the guilt Sammy must feel if she watches Yaz die in front of her without ever making things right ??? Not to mention Ben’s guilt of feeling like he caused her death bc he was slowing them down with Bumpy. Maybe even Kenji too for not pulling her to safety fast enough with the feeding hook !!
Which is an ironic name..
I’d write it myself if I had the motivation to finish things ..

Okay, back to age speculation and lore:
I assume Brooklynn would be twenty if she had survived?
Because she helped Yaz in Texas, iirc, and that was fourteen months before the show. She might have traveled with one of her dads, but she seems more independent, and I think you need to be eighteen to drive yourself out of state.
Though I don't know if Texas and California have different laws, OR if she is actually from England, and if that is different.
Or maybe she just has a fake driver's license and is a Rebel like that.
I presume she was nineteen when she was attacked (MURDERED), because the casting call was for a nineteen-year-old.
Given the span of text messages (5/3/2022 - 9/30/2022), we can pin her birthday at some time between May and August.
UNLESS MY EVIDENCE IS FLAWED.
#this means that she would have turned 14 during four-month Nublar timeskip#probably#brooklynn#jwcc#jwct#chaos theory

Post-Islands Headcannons
Brooklynn sorta becomes a kleptomaniac...just a bit. She's so used to things being free on the islands that she pockets things without thinking about it. So of course whenever she sees keycards and other things she pick it up...just in case. They might need it to save their lives. It's not until later when she empties her pockets that she realized she took so much stuff.
Yaz has chronic pain in her injuries ankle, hip, and knee. Due to the injury not healing right on the islands (ankle injuries have a correlation between knee and hips pains btw). She has to be extra careful running and makes sure she stretches + wears a knee brace and compression socks.
Kenji never learns how to drive. Like ever. Brand tried to teach him a few times but he eventually gave up. If he can, he tries not to take any vehicle. He'd rather walk than take the subway. He can remember how many times he's almost died in the passenger seat of a vehicle (be that a helicopter, car, etc) and doesn't trust them anymore. It takes years before he gets in the passenger seat of Darius' jeep and even then he's panicking the whole time.
Darius is afraid of the dark + silence in the dark. He has big chunky headphones that play music all night and he has nightlights spread throughout his bedroom. But he can't sleep without his window open, even in winter. He wants to have another escape route, knowing that he can get out no matter what.
Sammy takes to wandering around areas of the farm she's never been to before. She'll completely disappear from a room and come back four hours later saying she made a new hiking path up to their neighbor's property. Also, she has an immunity to poison oak/ivy because she got it so much on Isla Nublar.
Ben lights small fires that aren't technically arson whenever he gets a chance. He has a collection of different lighters and mini torches and he carries at least one wherever he goes.

Thoughts on Ben after watching Jurassic World Chaos Theory:
I love that he's the one who gets the camp fam back together. I don't know if this was intentional or not but given that he found his way back to them on Nublar after his fall, it only seems right that he's the one who sets out on a journey to warn them and keep them safe
it makes me wonder thought if they're all he has. We know he talks about a girlfriend in Europe (the fandom's consensus seems to be that she doesn't exist but tbh to me it sounded more like him possibly interpreting too much into an online friendship out of a need to feel close to someone) but he doesn't really mention any family or friends. He seems to be living out of his van, has taken a break from his studies ... I don't know, it all screams lonely to me
speaking of which: after they came back home, four of his friends were in relationships and Kenji was apparently living with Darius for a while so it wouldn't surprise me if Ben felt a little left out at the time, maybe even jealous that they all had someone in some way and he didn't
I also need to talk about Ben's trauma. He goes through a lot in the series, and I'm not even talking about the dinosaur encounters. He's lost Brooklynn. He's in a place where he's convinced something is wrong and no one believes him (at first). He almost drowns and loses his van - his home. He can only watch helplessly when Bumpy gets tortured. He thinks Bumpy is dying. He gets electrocuted and hurts himself further during the Atrociraptor attack. It's a lot, and no one seems to care.
which brings me to my final observation: Ben, in a way, has become the caretaker of the group. He's the one who reunites them, the one who is appalled when he thinks Sammy wants to break up with Yaz, the one who (maybe intentionally) forces Darius and Kenji to talk and make up. This whole time, it's never about him - it's about them. He even lets Kenji hold Bumpy's egg because he knows Kenji needs that in that moment. He's always there for them but the others are so lost in their own heads and problems that they don't have the capacity to be there for him in return. I don't blame them for that but Ben's trauma from the island and everything that came after never gets properly addressed - on the contrary, Yaz even makes a joke about pterosaurs - and I feel like that's long overdue (hence why I wrote a fic about him and Kenji meeting Billy Brennan because if there's someone who knows about trauma of the flying extinct reptile kind it's Billy). Tldr; my boy needs a break and a hug.

Gotta love imagining the Camp Fam trying to live a normal life after Isla Nublar and adapting again because I just imagine them with her family or some other friends or buddies from school and all and then them saying the most unhinged shit like it's normal. Yaz is chatting with idk her cousins or something and they ask her when did she realize she had feelings for Sammy and she's like 'oh, there was this time Sammy was poisoned and I lost it and ran across the jungle at night with two hybrid dinos on the loose so I could get the antidote to save her and I nearly died like four or five times but the memories I had of her gave me the strength I needed to keep going? Anyway that's when I realized :)' and her cousin is like. Oh okay.
Or Ben is in class and he casually starts talking about the time he fell of a monorail and got savaged by pteranodons but managed to get out alive and then he survived on his own for like a month before finding out the other kids were still in the island with him. The teacher calls his mom and asks her if he is going to therapy because if not he needs it.

So I've been trying to get a gist of post-time skip Ben based on Chaos Theory trailer (obsessed again? wrong, I never stopped being obsessed), and I feel like I can optimistically assume that his personality will make sense for his character development that we've seen in Camp Cretaceous.
I made a post about it once but to sum it up shortly:
season 1 Ben is a boy who was clearly raised in some sort of bubble (a different bubble than Kenji) - he is scared and anxious (not just regarding dinosaurs); at the same time we get hints that he can be very passionate and has a sense of an adventure (he's just scared to cross the line). Season 2 Ben experienced a massive traumatic event, to put it nicely, his personality was put into a blender which was then turned on and left unsupervised for several days. His season 2 jungle boy persona, while still consistent with the traits showed prior (as mentioned - Ben was both passionate and adventurous before - he was just too shy to act on it), is mostly a result of a severe trauma; meaning his personality feels more extreme because he had to rely on extremes to survive. Season 3 Ben is one of the most interesting "forms of evolution". The trauma is still fresh but at the same time Ben tries to think beyond it – wants to make decisions based not on "fight or flight" response but on his own feelings on the matter, it's very interesting but in this season - though not visibly - he slightly reconnects with season 1 personality (slightly) for example by considering advantages and disadvantages of his actions (leaving Nublar or staying) (it doesn't apply to every situation which is actually quite perfect because at this point he is still pretty damn traumatized). Then we have season 4 which is actually very important for Ben's character arc because, for the second time, he loses his footing - Nublar was wild but familiar, Nublar was 'never without Bumpy'. Mantah Corp Island is completely new and Ben is forced to reestablish what actions and behaviors are going to pay off in this environment; ironically enough, I think that the distance from Nublar is good for him - Nublar was also the environment where he got traumatized, personally I think that the island could, to some extent, prevent him from healing. And ofc, season 5 - Ben shows clear signs that he is going to evolve as a person; he mellows down not because he gets soft in a bad way but because he recognizes that he doesn't always have to be a knife. At the same time, he is not hesitant to strike if the situation calls.
So, now let's take a quick look at Ben in the Chaos Theory trailer. I noticed four traits that we can spot in that short clip:
He has that sort of shy-silly boy charm to him. A subtle mixture of bashfulness ("hey Darius," his voice is amused but he also sounds a bit apologetic). That is something that especially shines through his character in season 1
When he needs to be serious - he is ("Someone is hunting us"). This is such Ben-thing to do, especially in season 4 and season 5 Ben – when he is learning how to distinguish between a real danger and something that doesn't require setting the world on fire.
He gets slightly panicky sometimes ("before it's too late!") which is a fantastic news because trauma really messed up Ben's sense of danger and it's just good to knows that he feels fear like a normal person (yes, when someone is hunting you for sport, I guess everyone would be a little bit panicky)
From what I can tell - when the situation calls he does display signs of recklessness - notice how he's driving the car. Notice how Darius is visibly not impressed with Ben behind the wheel. Now, sure we can't tell whether someone (something?) is chasing them at that exact moment but either way - it seems that Ben is in a hurry and, excuse me but, he does not give a flying fck about safety on the road (which is! funny considering how he was driving the gyrosphere in season 1)
So yeah, overall, I think that we are going to get a nice continuation of Ben's character arc in Chaos Theory. I certainly hope so because watching Ben grow as a person was one of my favorite aspects of Camp Cretaceous!
Ah, and also... I really hope that at some point in Chaos Theory Ben will do something unhinged out of nowhere and the rest of the campers (because we will see all of them - I don't doubt that) will look at each other, nod, and say "ah, yes, that's our Ben"

I've literally been thinking about the magazine calling Ben a brave soul for the last twenty four hours straight. Because like he is.
Of course they all are, but especially Ben. He was afraid even before things went to hell on Nublar. He was afraid trying to leave Nublar because he was afraid to be afraid again. He's the epitome of 'do it scared'
I'm not saying anything we don't all already know lol I just really liked his little subheading, made me a little emotional thinking about him <3
#jwcc#jwct#jurassic world chaos theory#ben pincus#i wasn't super impressed with the subheading things they gave to the others#but ben's was so perfect to me#bravery against all odds?? immaculate perfect summary of his character

Happy Halloween (early as 💩, I know)! For Halloween, I wanted to do something nice. At first, this illustration was meant to be one of a Tyrannosaurus Rex, but I think it’s now an Allosaurus (it’s missing a third finger and the arms aren’t long enough, I think).
Underneath, I would like to write a mini story.
It was a dark and stormy night, and you were driving down a road in Costa Rica. You were here for a much needed vacation from the hell that was work. Seven to nine hours a day, five days a week, it was tiring and you have been exhausted for weeks at a time. But just a week ago, you got a vacation pass from your boss, and you gleefully accepted the pass and took a flight down to Costa Rica.
Unfortunately, a storm had arrived one day during your vacation, as you were staying at a beach a few miles from the town you were staying in, a town you don’t remember at the top of your head. But, the name is on the map you have on the dashboard of the rental Jeep. The speed limit is 50 mph on the signs you see every few minutes, but you’re going 60. You don’t mind it really, since you’re used to being above the speed limit back at home.
As you’re thinking about home, you notice a fork in the road and slow down to read the signs. One goes east, and the other goes south. You take the map off your dashboard and read its components. The map you used to get to the beach is an expansion of a larger map of Costa Rica. You notice to the left of Costa Rica in the middle of the ocean, is a map of five islands. The names of the islands include Isla Nubar and Isla Sorna, and those make you remember about some incidents that occurred in an island in the Central American area.
You figure that Isla Nublar and Sorna were the islands that the incidents took place at. But, putting the interesting fact aside, you look at the small map and you see the town you’re staying at, because you had circled it in red with a Sharpie before going to the beach. The town is on the road that goes east, so you put the map back and take the road east.
You continue down the road for several minutes, without anything changing really. The rain pattered against the windshield, and the whippers went back and forth, making a squeaking noise. The yellow lights of the Jeep illuminate about three or four yards of the asphalt road ahead, with its yellow stripes reflecting the light, making the path visible a further few yards than the range of the lights.
But, as you start to see the lights of the town, a sudden black shape crosses the road, startling you into an abrupt stop, launching your face into the steering wheel. You take a moment to readjust yourself, noticing your nose is bleeding. You reach for the napkins in the glovebox. That’s when you look outside the passenger window, and see something.
You quickly figure out it must’ve been what came in front of the Jeep. You first see the yellow eyes of the animal. Maybe it’s a jaguar or something like that. You get a little worried, but you figure that it might just go away. But it keeps staring at you. You completely forget about the napkins in the glovebox as you stare at the creature. The creature is starting to look more visible as your eyes adjust to the darkness. You start to realize that it’s bigger than you thought it was. It looks like it’s bigger than the Jeep, which makes you even more nervous. The lights from the Jeep start to bring the creature into view.
The animal is as big as you feared, and it’s a very dark green, but not dark enough to blend with the foliage of the jungle. It appears to actually be standing in its hind legs, with arms that seemed to be equipped with claws. It also has scaly skin, and there are large shapes going along its back all the way to its tail, a blackish color. But, as you keep looking at it, it almost looks like a dark purple. It also has a tan underside, marked by these splotches. They cover the creature’s arms, feet, and face. You can’t tell if the splotches are marks of dirt or mud, so you start to look closer. But as you start to focus more on the splotches, you realize that they’re red. A dark red. Almost like it’s blood. As you look at the spreading splotches, you start to wonder, are they part of the animal’s color pallet, or did it just finish a meal. And then, you realize that it looks like a dinosaur.
You quickly try to find your camera to take a picture, but when you return to the window, it’s gone. You look around in the Jeep at the road and the two sides of the jungle. You make some last looks around, and you figure it went away, like you thought it would at first. You put your camera back in your backpack, and take one of the napkins in the glovebox and wipe your nose. After you’re done, you finish the drive to the town.
Strangely though, it seems everybody is awake and wandering around town. Some are moving quite fast, for it being nighttime. There’s a woman on her porch crying and balling tears down here cheeks. The man next to the woman heads back into the house. You wonder what happened as you pull up to the hotel. You gather your stuff and start heading indoors, but then you notice the man that went inside is coming back out with sheets of paper. He hands them to other people, and they start rushing towards power poles, and started taping and nailing the papers to the poles. You decide to go look at the nearest paper and see what it says.
The sign reads:
Missing: Eduardo Chavez Age 5 Went missing during the night. Family heard loud bang and boy’s screaming as he was taken into the jungle. Immediate help wanted. Possibly injured. Large bird like footprints found near the house.
As you finish reading the text, you come to a realization that shocks you and fills you with fear.
The creature you saw in the road had eaten the child.

I'm not really a fan of when the Jurassic World shows delve into the corporate/criminal conspiracy plots with human villains. I think one of Camp Cretaceous' biggest strengths in the first three seasons was that the main thrust of the story was just the kids trying to survive and escape Isla Nublar. There's one strong, straightforward end goal established right off the bat that they're always working towards and it allowed the show to keep a very tight focus with a constant sense of forward plot momentum. As a hook to write the show around the Mantacorp stuff in CC seasons four & five and the murder conspiracy of Chaos Theory are much weaker.

The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997, Steven Spielberg)
19/03/2024
The Lost World: Jurassic Park is a 1997 film directed by Steven Spielberg, sequel to Jurassic Park and inspired by the novel The Lost World by Michael Crichton.
The franchise continued with Jurassic Park III (2001), Jurassic World (2015), Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) and Jurassic World Dominion (2022).
Four years have passed since the dramatic events at Jurassic Park. Professor Ian Malcolm, one of the survivors, is contacted again by the now ex-head of InGen, John Hammond, and informed that Isla Nublar, the place where the park stood, was in reality just a showcase for tourists. In fact, the prehistoric creatures were actually created on nearby Isla Sorna, the so-called "Site B" where, following the destruction of the fences caused by the hurricane called Clarissa, they were able to escape from their cages and live undisturbed without the whole world knowing, but now the target of her greedy and corrupt nephew, Peter Ludlow, eager to plunder her to recreate a "city Jurassic Park" in San Diego. At first Malcolm, knowing the very high risks, declines the proposal but, discovering that his girlfriend, the paleontologist Sarah Harding, has already gone to the place, he decides to leave immediately to bring her back, aided by the photographer Nick Van Owen and the engineer Eddie Carr.
Not long after Peter Ludlow, together with a team of hunters led by Roland Tembo, arrives on Isla Sorna to begin the capture of some dinosaurs and in particular, an adult male specimen of Tyrannosaurus rex.
After a day's march, Dieter Stark, Tembo's deputy, loses his life in the jungle, devoured alive by the small Compsognathus and that same night the camp is attacked by T-Rexes, attracted by the smell of the puppy's blood left impregnated on the jacket by Sarah. In the general escape, the hunting team crosses an expanse of tall grass falling victim to an ambush by seven Velociraptors; despite this, Ian, Sarah, Nick and Kelly manage to reach the communications center, where Nick requests reinforcements from the mainland while the others have to deal with the Raptors.
Jeff Goldblum is Professor Ian Malcolm: a mathematician expert in chaos theory. He is, together with Hammond (and with the exception of the children, who only appear in a brief cameo), the only main character from the first chapter to also reappear in the sequel. At the end of the first film, Malcolm managed to escape from Isla Nublar, and during these four years he revealed the facts of Jurassic Park to the public.
Julianne Moore is Dr. Sarah Harding, Ian Malcolm's girlfriend.

Owen’s Solo Mission (Teaser)
Set in between the events of Fallen Kingdom and Dominion, Owen Grady is trying to find a way to keep himself and his new family of Claire and Maisie safe. When a mysterious note appears on his doorstep offering assistance in helping protect them, Owen secretly heads out to meet with the sender.
When Owen Grady first took up the position as a Velociraptor trainer at Jurassic World, the former Navy man didn’t have a shred of admiration towards the formerly-extinct dinosaurs. Although he vehemently turned down the prospect of militarizing the dinosaurs to use in the field, Owen still found himself not really embracing the concept of becoming the alpha of the four raptors that he trained. This however changed though after the events of Isla Nublar, when only one of Owen’s raptors (a female named Blue) survived and stayed on the island after all of the humans were evacuated.
Upon returning back to the island at a later date to find and rescue Blue and several other dinosaurs from the now-active volcano that would completely decimate the island, Owen found himself slowly growing more protective of his favorite raptor and dinosaurs in general. This was most certainly assisted by his renewed relationship with Claire Dearing, who turned her life around after the events that occurred on Isla Nublar. Once a ruthless businesswoman who ran the park with an iron fist, Claire now found herself becoming a self-less activist trying to save all of the remaining dinosaurs from the volcano.
After defeating not only the Indominous Rex but also the Indoraptor, Owen and Claire’s pseudo-family with Blue further expanded upon “adopting” Maisie, who was orphaned upon the death of her guardian during the events of the Indoraptor’s rampage. While the Indoraptor was going on its aforementioned rampage, several of the saved Isla Nublar dinosaurs were quickly sold off to countries and militias all across the globe to further line the pockets of greedy businessmen. However, many dinosaurs still faced extinction due to a gas leak in the basement of the dinosaur sanctuary where the sale was taking place. This quickly changed due to Maisie’s actions. Having recently discovered that she herself was a clone of her guardian Benjamin Lockwood’s deceased daughter, the girl began to empathize with the dinosaurs. With this in mind, the genetically engineered girl opted to free the remaining dinosaurs into the California wilderness to have a fighting chance at survival.
In the time since the dinosaurs spread across the continental United States or arrived at their new locations across the globe, Owen and Claire had found themselves trying their best to care for the still-grieving Maisie after the death of her grandfather Benjamin. While Claire continued her activism by working at the Dinosaur Protection Group, Owen relocated Maisie to a cabin in the woods of California to prevent anyone from finding the cloned girl and using her for genetic experiments to find out how to continue cloning more humans.
Due to his constant efforts of trying to prevent anyone from taking advantage of Maisie, Owen had quickly found himself growing incredibly protective to the point where he truly cared for the young girl. As such, when a note mysteriously showed up on the cabin’s doorstep one morning with the promise of helping provide “reinforcements” to protect Maisie, Owen was quick to accept the invitation. After convincing Claire to come to the cabin for a few days to stay with Maisie while he “went to meet up with some old Navy friends”, the hunky man quickly headed out to go meet the mysterious individual.
Upon arriving that next night at the location listed on the note (a dilapidated house near the California-Mexico border), Owen tapped into the skills he’d gathered during his time in the military and cautiously approached the house before making a slow entry. As he slowly walked around the creaky old house with his gun drawn, Owen was quick to call out for anyone there to slowly make their way into the large foyer so he could see who sent the note. As he suddenly began to hear the sound of squeaky wheels grow louder, Owen quickly directed his flashlight in the direction of the noise. Upon seeing who the individual was, Owen was unable to prevent his jaw from dropping...

In Camp Cretaceous it was said the Scorpios Rex was the fastest dinosaur ever but I honestly kind of don't believe that. The reason I think that is because there were TWO of them, albeit in the beginning there was only one and we only learned there were two of them after they both see each other for the first time and end up fighting each other. After learning about the second ones existence we learn that the Scorpios Rex can asexually reproduce. However it is unknown when the scorpios did this. I'd like to believe that it did this either in the time frame of the period of time where it was running around Isla Nublar before the campers knew about it or even its escape from being cryogenically frozen or at least shortly after the campers' first encounter with it.
Now this next part is where my memory isn't as reliable so I don't know if I'll get the exact characters and scenes correctly but I will try my best.
The scorpios rex had a short attention span, going from actively pursuing the campers to then getting distracted by lightning causing a tree to catch on fire where it then decides to run off. In one scene where it gets distracted it gets distracted by other dinosaurs roaring in the distance. I believe that could've potentially been the second scorpios rex roaring, causing the first one to get distracted at hearing it's own roar. I believe shortly after this scene is when Darius makes the comment of it being the fastest dinosaur ever. He makes this comment because moments before he and I believe it was Ben were attacked by the scorpios before it runs off and he then learns that I believe it was the other four campers were just attacked by the scorpios right before they called using a walkie talkie. This is when Darius comments that how the other part of the group is on the other side of the island when they were attacked even though the scorpios rex had also just attacked him moments before, leading him to say it's the fastest dinosaur ever. I believe instead of the scorpios rex being the fastest dinosaur I might have been the two separate groups getting attacked by both scorpios rexes. The scorpios rex can still be a fast dinosaur, considering it outran multiple dinosaurs in order to kill them I'm just thinking it might not be as fast as we think

There is only FOUR scenes in media to date that make me feel things consistently. Those scenes are:
• Aunt May's death scene in Spider-Man PS4. That scene hits so hard, mostly because we spend so much time talking to her, hearing about her, and if you do the side missions, learn more about the history. And with the context of Spider-Man 2 also added onto the mix, it only hits harder.
• The scene in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom where all of the dinosaurs are running away from the volcano. The desperation, the hopelessness, knowing that most of them aren't going to make it, it hurts. Especially once you see all of them running off of the edge, so desperate for safety that they don't pay attention and they fall. And you realize, they don't know how to swim. At all. And a bonus for that scene, when they're all being loaded up and they seem to be in all sorts of pain, along with the scene on the boat when they are sailing away from Isla Nublar.
• Later on in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom when Maisie lets all of the dinosaurs. That line of, "They're alive. Like me." Hits so hard, especially with the emotion in their voice, plus the preface of the poison getting so close to killing all of them, of making dinosaurs extinct once again (they don't know about the Mosasaur being loose), and the pure shock, and utter defeat. Claire having to make the decision not to release them into the world due to the future consequences, of being an activist for dinosaurs staying alive but having to basically be the one to kill them all once again, this time for humanity. Then they turn away to watch, and this kid, who had just learned she was a clone not even two hours ago, released them due to a shared kinship.
• The scene in Jurassic World: Dominion where Maisie addresses Claire and Owen as her parents. The denial up to that point, the insistence that she's not important, makes the scene amazing. The shock and glee at seeing them. A bonus for the gushing about the leads from both the JP trilogy and the JW trilogy trading notes.
All of these scenes hit so goddamn hard, and they never cease to make me feel something EVERY TIME. I know two of these for scenes come from the same movie, but Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is a movie jammed full of big emotional moments. It's why out of the JW trilogy, it's my favorite. And yes, that means a grand total of three out of four scenes come from the JW trilogy, sue me. The Jurassic World trilogy is really good, and so full of moments that deserve praise, because they are so goddamn amazing. The characters feel like real people with real development. It's just... It's amazing.

Darius Field Guide #4

I played the ARK video game at the time, I had passed the first four maps of the story, and I actually was quite good. I only quit playing, to play the Jurassic Park video game and win the trip to the park.
The truth is, I always loved playing on this map, because of its aesthetics, it's impressive and I love the creatures, I think I'm the only one who finds the Ravagers pretty. But if I had been able to choose, I would be on The Island and not in this place, it's too dangerous, it is not a place for a 21st century kid, instead La Isla… It would be like going back to Nublar, it would feel more like home.

Dinosaur-Human Hybrids AU
This AU is roughly based on the original concept for the scrapped Jurassic Park 4 film which was about an initiative to create dinosaur-human hybrids.
In this AU, Camp Cretaceous was a cover to lure kids to Isla Nublar where they would be experimented on and forcefully injected with dinosaur DNA. But the fall of Jurassic World gives them a chance at escape...
The hybrid combinations are below the cut:
Darius Bowman - Pteranodon
Arms turned into wings with hands protruding from the ends instead of talons. These hands are only capable of simple clutching movements
Can only glide for short distances and has difficulty taking off from the ground
Feet turned into a set of dexterous and long hooked talons that act as a second set of hands. These hands are capable of more complex movements than the ones attached to his wings
The awkwardness of his feet makes walking difficult and requires him to use his wings for balance
A small, pointed crest protrudes from the back of his head but it's more proportional to his head size than the crests of actual pteranodons
He has carnivorous leanings but can get away with eating smaller mammals and fish and has little instinct to consume larger prey (including the other kids)
Kenji Kon - Brachiosaurus
Elephant-like feet that are difficult to move because of their weight
Long, thick tail that sets him off balance. He has a lot of control over this tail, and can use it to thwack or whip objects or creatures
Difficulty digesting food without swallowing rocks called gastroliths (book detail). The human part of his brain hates swallowing rocks though
Can extend his legs to gain an extra few inches
Small, semi-circle crest protruding from the middle of his head
Brooklyn - Dilophosaurus
Colorful neck frill that expands when she's upset or angry
Half-developed venom glands. She has extreme difficulty shooting the venom and ends up swallowing most of it, resulting in sickness
Two crests on the top of her head extending to the back of her skull
Patches of colorful patterning on her body
Can become sporadically aggressive and attack the other kids before snapping out of it
Carnivorous and has little appetite for anything except for meat
Ben Pincus - Ankylosaurus
Hardened back plates covered in spines. The spines on his sides are larger and flatter than the ones along his shoulders and spine
The coloration of the back plates is similar to Bumpy's
Long clubbed tail
He has minimal control over his tail, and sometimes whacks himself with it. The added weight of the club also puts him off balance
Four face spikes- two protruding from his cheeks and two protruding from his temples. These spikes are dull but can hurt others if he forgets they're there
Sammy Gutierrez - Triceratops
Spiked crest protruding from the base of her head that obstructs some of her peripheral vision. The added weight of the crest also makes her dizzy sometimes
Two long, curved horns protruding from her temple. They're long and sharp enough that she has to worry about accidentally hurting the other kids
A smaller, duller horn protrudes from the tip of her nose
Small, stubby tail
Heavy, elephant-like feet. They're lighter than Kenji's so she's more maneuverable
Yasmina "Yaz" Fadoula - Velociraptor
Misshapen, bowed legs that allow her to run faster while crouched. She can also pounce really high in the air
Lizard-like eyes that allow her to see details across long distances but make her far-sighted. The added scope of vision is often overwhelming
When she gets overly emotional or scared, her voice turns into velociraptor calls and chirps that hurt her throat
Like Brooklyn, she can spontaneously become aggressive
Carnivorous with little appetite for anything except for meat
#not sure exactly of the timeline of this au but that's a problem for a later me#just imagining this kids trying to coexist like this is kinda heartbreaking <3#jwcc#jurassic world camp cretaceous#hybrid au#darius bowman#kenji kon#brooklyn#ben pincus#sammy gutierrez#yasmina fadoula#considering reworking this to be the plot of the isla sorna au hmmm#hybrids au

love and chaos theory - Jake "Hangman" Seresin x OC (Jurassic Park AU)
The year is 1990. George H. W. Bush finished his second year as president, Pretty Woman just hit theaters — and Jurassic Park is on schedule to open its gates to the public in four years time. It’s been trial and error for the past ten years. Leasing Isla Nublar from the Costa Rican government, learning genome sequences, and figuring out the best way to care for their animals. All while sparing no expense.
But now, they’re ready to introduce their first batch of live dinosaurs into the park — and they need some new staff members.
Exotic wildlife veterinarian DR. RONNIE BRADSHAW — who has worked in zoos, wildlife reserves, and animal sanctuaries all over the world. Not to mention her own brother is a paleontologist, making her dinosaur knowledge substantial in comparison. These made her perfect for the job. And as someone always looking for a new challenge, when John Hammond himself called to offer her the position (with a substantial pay raise) she accepted easily.
Junior game warden JAKE SERESIN — who has been working in Kenya for the past ten years with Robert Muldoon. He knows little to nothing about dinosaurs, except that the triceratops was his favorite as a kid. He only accepted the job because Muldoon offered to take Jake with him as part of his team. It would take him closer to home in Texas and offer a new challenge with wildlife that has never been controlled before. That has never been seen before by man.
But what neither of these new workers knows is the danger that lies around the corner at the park, and what they could possibly mean to one another.
